Welcome to the blog!
Welcome to my Personal Finance blog! I never saw myself starting a blog but realized this would be a perfect platform to share my knowledge and help simplify personal finance with those interested.
I am a nerd when it comes to personal finance and Excel spreadsheets. I have been reading books, and blogs, and listening to podcasts for the last few years. It has really opened my eyes to take control of my money and go against the status quo.
My wife, Leslie, and I recently purchased a duplex and have been house-hacking for about a year now. We live in one side and rent the other side out.
My long-term goal is to be financially independent and have passive income to cover expenses.
I am 28 years old with some student loan debt. I will share my journey of paying it off.
Many people think finances are complicated and hard to understand. I am here to make it as simple as possible. Simplicity is key and you don’t need to spend more time than you want on finances.
Finances do not have to be complicated
I will be sharing my knowledge of investing, saving, increasing income, house hacking, travel hacking, tackling debt, and more.
I hope to help my readers become more financially literate. There are other options than having to live with debt forever. By creating the right mindset and processes – personal finance can be simple.
I am not going to tell you to stop doing everything that brings you joy to save a few dollars.
Keep buying those lattes if it makes you happy.
Life is not about being so frugal that you miss out on all the amazing things the world has to offer. Nothing is for certain and you aren’t guaranteed to live until age 65.
The key is to be intentional with your money and to also enjoy it. This will make you financially free.
